Welcoming a new child into the family brings change and transition to every aspect of your lives. Matrescence is the transition to motherhood, akin to adolescence, in that it causes biological, hormonal, social and emotional changes. It can also bring up issues of previous childhood experiences, wonders about current relationships and so much more.

A Parenting Partner for Pregnancy and Postpartum Support focuses on the transformative period of matrescence—a time when a parent's life is changed in significant ways. Mental health support during pregnancy offers space to reflect on one’s own early experiences, explore different approaches to parenting and family dynamics, process expectations, and set intentions for the future. In the postpartum period, support shifts to processing the birthing experience, observing early attachment, developing reflective skills, and creating supportive family routines. These supports are personalized and co-created with parents to meet their unique needs and timelines.
