About
( Baby and ) Me
Meet Sarah Cooper
Hi, I’m Sarah. I’ve been supporting young children, families, and early childhood professionals for over 20 years.
I’ve been drawn to babies for as long as I can remember. That pull shaped my professional path—and my personal one.
Through fostering and adoption—and later, birthing my way into parenthood—I encountered moments that felt confusing, overwhelming, and deeply humbling. Those struggles became the impetus for wanting to understand more—about babies, about myself, and about how relationships shape development. What I experienced personally, the research later confirmed: babies grow through relationship, and caregivers matter more than any strategy or schedule.
My work today sits at the intersection of lived experience and deep respect for early relational health—supporting parents as they learn to notice their baby’s cues, stay curious in hard moments, and trust the connection they’re building every day.
The Science Behind
Early Development
The field of infant mental health has been increasingly viewed as essential for healthy growth and development as the science behind the brain has grown. We now know so much about early development and especially attachment. This aligns with my core beliefs about babies, young children, parenting and early childhood education.
Supporting Caregivers
and Children
We all need to be seen and safely held to thrive. I am passionate about the care and support for young children and their caregivers and know intimately the often-heroic journey it takes to be a parent.
I am honored to be called to walk with families and caregivers who are brave enough to ask for help.
A Little About Me
When I’m not ogling babies, I’m marveling at how quickly my own children are growing, reading, trying new beers with my soulmate husband and cheering my favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers! Here we go, Steelers, here we go!
